Short Report: AI for Teachers Programme

The “AI for Teachers” programme was held at St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, from April 1st to 9th, 2025. Organized and initiated by CBE and St Joseph Engineering College Vamanjoor aimed to equip 450 staff members with knowledge of AI and its applications in education.
The programme was inaugurated by Rev Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, Secretary, Catholic Board of Education Mangalore. Other guests included Rev Fr Wilfred Prakash Dsouza, Director, St Joseph Engineering College; Dr Rio Dsouza, Principal, St Joseph Engineering College; Dr Harish B, Head of the Computer Applications Department; and Mr Sumith Kumar, Assistant Professor.
The programme included sessions on AI fundamentals, tools for teachers, personalized learning, assessment, curriculum development, and ethical considerations. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops.
The programme successfully provided staff with an understanding of AI and its potential to enhance teaching and learning.
